Doing things NOW
Doing things NOW

You may have noticed that I have not been writing very much over the last
few weeks. That is because I have been busy doing stuff that has nothing to
do with this stuff.

About a month ago I bought a bulldozer. I have never driven a bulldozer
before but I was sure I could. Got on it the first day and Was a bit
conservative with what I did. I cleared some land and knocked over a few
trees. About a week and a half ago Kim went out of town. She needed to go up
to Knoxville to help her sister out. One of the things she did was make sure
she got the grass cut before she left....now she has no grass at all.

I completely re-landscaped her yard.  I took out her driveway and moved it.
I changed the water flow of the entire property. Now she has a big yard with
no grass.

Of course I also did manage to break the bulldozer in the process. You would
not think that you could push something that big too hard. I did :). I broke
the bucket cylinder. That is the part that makes the bucket move up and
down. I found the parts and took it to the shop to be fixed. After 2 days
they had not even touched it. So I went and picked up the parts to rebuild
the bucket cylinder. I look on the internet and even joined one of these
sites where you can ask questions and pay for the answer. I found a guy who
was a heavy machinery mechanic for 15 years.

There was one part I could not get off. I searched the internet and found
some stuff but wanted the opinion of a professional. So I asked the guy how
to get this part off and he told me. The problem was that what he was
telling me was not matching up with what I was seeing. So I did it the way I
thought it should be done and it worked fine. I ended up teaching the expert
how to fix the problem :)

Before all of this my television stopped working. One day I was watching in
and suddenly it started making a horrible sound and the picture went out. So
I figured that it was dead and I would have to buy a new one. I did some
research and found out there were only 3 moving parts in the whole thing. So
I started tearing it apart.

I got it half way apart and could not find the problem. So after a little
more reading I learned that there is a high speed color wheel inside the TV.
So I took a few more things apart and there it was....shattered. I ordered a
new one.

I have never fixed a TV before so we will see how that goes. If it works, I
have saved 1500 dollars. I know I can do it. I just have to figure out how.
I got it apart and now all I have to do is get it put back together.

One of the rewarding things about all of this is that there is a tangible
result. When I finish 5 hours of bulldozing, I can see what I did. What I
fix something that has broken I can see what I did. When I learn something
new I can know that I learned it. When I used to work construction I could
see what I did every day. The job was different than when I walked in. I
could see it.

That is one of the drawbacks of what I do here. I can write posts and teach
everything I know but there is no tangible result. Some people write their
success stories and that feel pretty good. Most of the time when people are
having success with the stuff we teach, we never hear from them.

I thrive on feedback. I need it. When I don't get it I tend to move in other
directions.

When I first started studying this stuff most of it was crap. The books I
read and the tapes I listened to talked about what was supposed to happen
but never focused on real world results. When I went to a seminar and was
told that my 'unconscious' learned something I was just pissed. I know when
I learned something because I know when something works.  It is tangible.

I think this is why it is so disappointing fore me when people who buy our
products and come to our seminars don't even try what they paid to learn. I
know how much easier life can be for them.

So I have dedicated myself to finding an answer. I think the first step will
be to have a open video seminar for anyone who wants to show up. I am
thinking this Saturday. I want those people who are not using the skills to
come and tell me where they are stuck so that I can do something about it.

About a year ago we bought concrete pavers to make a back patio at Kim's
house. I have never laid pavers before. I let that stuff sit there for over
a year. Yesterday I decided to do it and today it is half way done. I ran
out of things to bulldoze :)

A few things I want to know for the seminar this weekend.

1. What is the tangible result you are looking for from these skills?

2. How do you notice progress.

3. What do you do if you get stuck?

Today I have to learn how to plant grass in Georgia. I want to have ti done
by the time Kim gets back.

Have fun
